CLAY WORKSHOP ~ Make your own porcelain imprinted heirloom plates
Escape the daily grind and immerse yourself into the creative world of ceramics in this intimate and festive workshop with ceramicist and designer Kim Wallace.
This workshop is inspired by our Vintage Lace Collection and allows you to create your own heirloom pieces.
Suitable for all skill levels
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced artist or creative wanting to try a new art medium, this workshop is designed to get your hands into clay and have fun creating your very own heirloom porcelain plates or serving trays.
In this workshop you will create your own porcelain plates or serving trays from scratch using our Australian porcelain clay. You will be shown a range of different techniques to roll, imprint, decorate and shape your clay.
Make 2 plates or serving trays, or several smaller pieces and add patterns and personalised touches under the guidance of Kim.
We will have all tools, inspiration and guidance ready for you, or we welcome you to bring along your own designs & sketches, ideas or special textured mementos to incorporate into your pieces.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is for making and shaping the plates only. They will be allowed to slowly dry, and you can then choose to have them glazed by our professional team of potters with a high-fire, food-safe glaze as chosen during the workshop.
This workshop includes:
- Make 2 plates or serving trays, or several smaller pieces
- Your finished pieces will be professionally finished with a gloss glaze and fired by the Kim Wallace Ceramics team to create beautiful heirloom pieces
- The finished pieces will be ready to collect from our Noosaville studios in 2~3 weeks from workshop date. Shipping can be arranged for an additional charge.
Light refreshments will be provided.
SATURDAY 18 NOV 2023
THURSDAY 23 NOV 2023
Each workshop will be limited to 8 people for an intimate experience. Minimum of 6 participants required. Bookings are essential.
All pieces painted in our Workshops will be treated with the same care and attention to detail we take with our handmade ceramics. The firing process can sometimes produce unexpected results therefore we cannot guarantee an exact outcome for the final item after firing.
Part of making ceramics is embracing the varying results firing can bring including mishaps and firing faults. By booking a workshop you are agreeing to the possibility that results from this workshop may vary.
