POTTERY AS A CANVAS WORKSHOP ~ Design & decorate your own platter + dish
Escape the daily grind and immerse yourself into the creative world of ceramics in this intimate and fun decorating workshop with ceramicist and designer Kim Wallace.
Suitable for all skill levels
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced artist, illustrator or creative wanting to delve into the world of ceramics, this workshop is designed for you to have fun and create your very own masterpiece.
Come prepared with your own designs and sketches, or bring nothing but an open mind and we will provide you with all the tools and inspiration required!
In this workshop you will be provided with a beautiful handmade platter and dish (made by the KWC team) as a blank canvas to decorate under the guidance of Kim. The ceramics are bisque fired, meaning partially fired to give them strength, letting you focus on the fun of decorating and making it your own!
This workshop includes:
- 1x Bisque fired porcelain medium oval platter, in either our classic shape or with ruffled edges (choose on the day)
- 1x Bisque fired small bowl to match
- Your choice of a gorgeous selection of underglaze colours and pencils to use to decorate your pieces
- Your finished pieces will be professionally finished with a gloss glaze and fired by the Kim Wallace Ceramics team to create a beautiful, durable piece that you can enjoy using everyday
- The finished pieces will be ready to collect from our Noosaville studios in 2~3 weeks from the date of your workshop. Shipping can be arranged for an additional charge.
Light refreshments will be provided.

Each workshop will be limited to 8 people for an intimate experience. Minimum of 6 participants required. Bookings are essential.

IMPORTANT INFO
All pieces painted in our Workshops will be treated with the same care and attention to detail we take with our handmade ceramics. The firing process can sometimes produce unexpected results therefore we cannot guarantee an exact outcome for the final item after firing.
Part of making ceramics is embracing the varying results firing can bring including mishaps and firing faults. By booking a workshop you are agreeing to the possibility that results from this workshop may vary.

Is this workshop suitable for me?
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels. If you love being creative or simply want to try something new, this workshop is suitable for you.
What should I bring?
Water bottle.
Comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty (any potential clay or glaze spills will wash out).
Aprons will be provided.
Any reference materials or sketches if you have a particular idea in mind for your workshop. We will supply plenty of inspiration material for you to use also.
What's the refund policy on workshops?
Refund available up to 48 hours before the start time of the workshop.
Please note: refunds will include the booking price less a 10% booking & admin fee. Cancellations made 48 hours or less before the workshop date cannot be refunded however we can offer a 30-day store credit (less the 10% admin fee) if you are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.
If KWC needs to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be provided to all participants.
What ages can join the workshop?
Anyone aged 13 & over is welcome to join, but anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class.
