FAQ

1. What are the cups made from?

Our cups are handcrafted in our Noosa studio from high-quality Australian stoneware and porcelain clays. They’re fired at high temperatures for strength and durability, then finished with our beautiful, food-safe glazes.

2. What sizes are available and what are the dimensions?

We offer several sizes to suit different drinks and preferences:

  • Single Espresso ~ 2.5oz (75ml) | 6cm Ø x 5.5cm H
  • Double Espresso ~ 5oz (150ml) | 7cm Ø x 6.5cm H
  • Small ~ 6oz (175ml) | 8cm Ø x 6.5cm H
  • Café Cup ~ 7-8oz (200-225ml) | 8.5cm Ø x 6.5cm H
  • Medium ~ 8oz (225ml) | 8cm Ø x 8cm H
  • Large ~ 12oz (340ml) | 9cm Ø x 10cm H

Please note that because they are handmade, small variations in size can occur. Not all glazes are available in every size, but we’re happy to make to order — just get in touch!

3. Are the cups dishwasher safe?

Yes — we actually recommend the dishwasher for the best clean. The high heat helps keep them looking fresh over time. The only exception is any pieces with gold lustre, which should be hand-washed to protect the finish.

4. Do the cups get hot to hold?

Yes, like all ceramic cups, they gently take on the warmth of the drink inside. There’s something special about cradling a warm cup in your hands — it’s part of the comforting ritual of slowing down.

If the beverage is at a pleasant sipping temperature (around 65°C), the cup feels beautifully warm. We also offer handled mugs and silicone sleeves for extra comfort.

5. Are they microwave safe?

Yes, our standard stoneware cups are microwave safe. They are made from high-fired ceramic that generally handles microwave use well.

Important: Any cups with gold lustre are not microwave safe — sparks will fly! Always check for gold detailing before microwaving.

6. How do they compare to other brands?

Our cups feel noticeably more substantial and special than many mass-produced options. Customers love the handmade warmth, the beautiful glazes, and knowing they’re supporting a small Australian maker.

7. Are they suitable as gifts?

Absolutely. You can never have too many cups — each one has its own special purpose for different days and moods.

Our cups are very popular as gifts, and we consistently hear from customers how much joy they bring to their daily rituals. They make wonderful, thoughtful presents for birthdays, housewarmings, or just because.

8. What is your shipping and packaging like?

We put a lot of care into how we send your ceramics out into the world. Every piece is thoughtfully wrapped in recyclable kraft bubblewrap paper, nestled in biodegradable plant-starch packing peanuts, and packed into strong Australian-made cardboard boxes. We use eco-friendly materials throughout so the whole package can be recycled.

We have a very good track record with safe delivery. In the rare case that something arrives damaged, we’ll happily replace it.
