Reusable takeaway cup ~ Driftwood on Natural {8oz}
Handmade from Australian clay using our slipcasting technique. The base of the cups is left unglazed and polished smooth after firing.
Choose your favourite lid colour from the dropdown. Heat sleeves available separately here.
All our ceramics are handmade in our Noosa studio and variations in colour, glaze and size may occur ~ this is part of the beauty of the handcrafted ceramics process.
Takeaway cup size guide
12oz (approx 340ml)Â ~ One of the most popular takeaway sizes, great for all coffee types, including iced coffee. Similar measurement to an in-house large mug.
8oz (approx 225ml) ~ This size resembles coffee house glass cups, perfect for mocha, latte and cappuccino. It’s a very close favourite size alongside the 12oz.
6oz (approx 175ml)Â ~ Small cup size most closely replicating an in-house ceramic cup & saucer. Great for 3/4 latte, cappuccino & flat white. For those who like their coffees stronger and less milky.
Please note that being handmade, small variations will exist in sizing.
Care instructions
Yes, our cups are dishwasher safe, with the exception of gold lustre such as our Eclipse cups.
Our lids and sleeves are made from non-toxic, 100% silicone. They are non-porous, antibacterial and stain & odour resistant and are also dishwasher safe on the top rack.
If your cup has a silicone sleeve, remove before washing. After drying, flip your cup upside down and stretch the sleeve back over the cup, slowly teasing it upwards until you are happy with the position.
Spare silicone sleeves and lids are available separately in our online shop if required.
Gold lustre finishes (such as our Eclipse cups) are fired in the kiln for durability & food safety, however please note they are not dishwasher or ovenproof. Hand wash is recommended. DO NOT microwave lustre pieces as we use true gold!
Please wash before use.

Takeaway Cup FAQ
Are the takeaway cups dishwasher safe?
Yes, our cups are dishwasher safe, with the exception of gold lustre such as our Eclipse cups.Â
Our lids and sleeves are made from non-toxic, 100% silicone. They are non-porous, antibacterial and stain & odour resistant and are also dishwasher safe on the top rack.Â
Please see our Care instructions tab above for more information.
Will the cup get too hot to hold?
Ceramic cups take on the warmth of the liquid inside. Silicone heat sleeves are available to purchase separately.
As a guide, if coffee is made at the correct temperature (approx 65 degrees), you’ll be able to hold your cup using a heat sleeve comfortably. Please note that warmer drinks (or some coffees made too warm) may still be too hot to hold despite the heat sleeve. In this case, simply hold your cup like you would a regular paper takeaway cup ~ top and bottom.
Some of the external surfaces are unglazed. Will they stain?
All our ceramics are fired to the highest stoneware temperatures, making them highly vitrified and stain resistant. Coffee and tea stains should come off easily when washed. Some substances may stain, mainly oily liquids, so best to avoid contact with those. To avoid scuff marks we recommend adding one of our waterproof pouches to keep your cup safe in your bag and your bag clean from minor spills. The pouch also hangs on your wrist if needed, freeing up your hands.
Can I drink straight from the cup without the silicone lid, even if the top outside rim is not glazed?
Absolutely. All our ceramics are very high fired which makes them highly vitrified and all our cups can be used without the lid.
Unglazed surfaces are polished to be nice and smooth to the touch, and are stain resistant. We personally love the feel, however glazed surfaces can be a personal preference for some, in which case you may prefer to choose a takeaway cup with glazed upper rim such as Rockpool or Classic White.
